Introduction:
Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people aged 16 - 24* looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college just one day a week. The course is also available in the evenings.
An Apprenticeship in Accountancy will develop your employability skills and will give you valuable experience of a variety of routine business related activities. You will be working in an office environment where your duties could encompass many areas of office work such as written communications, telephone communications, customer enquiries, computer systems, paper filing systems, photocopying, payroll, receipts, orders, invoices etc. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.
Where possible staff from College Apprenticeships Training will find you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent upon work placements being available.
