Qualification:

Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Equivalent to the old National Award)

Introduction:

This course leads to a well recognised, academic qualification that is equivalent to 3 A levels at the extended diploma stage. It is designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in the construction sector. It will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to help you prepare for employment or higher education.

Entry Requirements:

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A* - C including mathematics (intermediate paper), science and English or successful completion of the BTEC First Diploma in Construction. An active interest in construction and civil engineering is essential.

  • Building control
  • Building technology in construction
  • Construction technology and design in construction and civil engineering
  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and the built environment
  • Mathematics in construction and the built environment
  • Science and materials in construction and the built environment
  • Sustainable construction

You will also study functional skills.

Course Assessment:

You will be continuously assessed throughout the year undertaking projects and assignments.

Course Progression:

Successful completion of this course will enable you to study for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, or help you to find employment in the construction industry or

progression to higher education for a degree.
