There will always been someone to help you at The College

We have a reputation for offering a highly supportive and welcoming learning environment, where students of all ages and abilities are encouraged and motivated to do well with their studies.

From helping you gain confidence to return to the classroom, to essential skills, study advice, welfare and social support and learning advice... there will always been someone to help you at The College.

The College has a dedicated Learning Support team who can help any student who feels they need extra help or support with their learning. We offer specialist additional support to many of our students. For instance, last year we helped:

  • Over 200 students with dyslexia. Many of the students were adults who had never been given the opportunity to have their specific learning difficulties assessed.
  • Over 300 students who wanted help to improve their basic skills had regular support through additional tutorials.
  • A number of students with hearing or visual impairments were helped through personal assistants providing amanuensis (note taking), communication support and/or enabling equipment including specialist IT.
  • Over 20 students with physical disabilities who needed very individual support students who speak English as their second language by offering regular language support sessions
  • 50+ students seeking confidential support for their studies (adults recovering from mental health problems found this particularly helpful)
