Hospitality and Catering sits within the Centre for Service Industries and is based at the Lansdowne Campus in the heart of Bournemouth, a town focused on tourism and everything associated the catering industry. Our campus is situated close to the cliff top, beaches and the New Forest is on the doorstop offering a wealth of leisure and employment opportunities for our students.
As a student within the Centre for Service Industries you will have the benefit of learning with tutors who have years of practical and professional experience and, of course, the use of our specialist resources including five specialist kitchens and two excellent training restaurants offering very different dining experiences.
We also believe in nurturing young talent. The Centre has a popular Junior Cookery Club, catering for 10 – 15 year olds with classes held on a Saturday morning.
Whatever type of work or career you wish to pursue, whether in hotel management or in a fast food outlet, the quality of training and professionalism offered at The College has led to excellent connections with a wide range of local and international businesses. We have forged strong relationships with many high quality and prestigious establishments nationwide, particularly in particularly in London and also in Relais and Châteaux establishments across France. Many full-time courses at The College offer a wide choice of work experience opportunities within these establishments and all courses lead to qualifications or skills accepted by the industry.
For those learners on supervisory and management programmes there is the opportunity to progress on to degrees in higher education, or employment as a trainee manager in a variety of different hospitality, leisure and tourism areas.

The centre for Hospitality and Catering has recently been acknowledged by City and Guilds with a Beacon Award for Excellence both in food preparation and with an individual student award in food service.
