The College is the largest provider of Child Care and Education and Playwork training in the region. Our programmes offer a wide range of learning opportunities for you to follow in your preferred career pathway from Foundation to Post-Graduate level.

You will be able to learn at a level to suit your ability and training needs, and on successful completion of the programme, you will have the opportunity to progress onto higher qualifications or to employment.

Many of our learners also follow career pathways through to Higher Education into Teaching, Nursing and Social Work. They also find employment in local day nurseries as early years practitioners, in schools as teaching assistants, in out of school clubs as playworkers. Interesting career opportunities include working for national holiday companies as nursery nurses – summer in the sun and winter in the snow.

Our part-time programmes provide training for teaching assistants, childminders. You will be able to study at our Poole or Bournemouth Centres with work placement experience as near to your home as possible if this is part of your programme. We also offer NVQ’s in Early Years Care and Education. NVQ’s operate largely through regular drop in workshops plus formal teaching input. Your personal tutor will support and guide you through your programme and onto the next stage of your learning and development.

We are pleased to work with our local Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth Early Years Development and Child Care Partnerships and to support their training initiatives to maintain the excellent services they offer to their communities.
