Situated between Bournemouth and Poole (map), the Knighton Heath Music Centre is a specially designed facility which accommodates the Popular Music section of the Bournemouth and Poole College.
Since 1992, the site has provided a number of courses dedicated to Popular Music Studies and Music Technology. The centre has also recently added a Foundation Degree to its list of courses, more details of which can be found in the Courses page of this site.
The site houses a number of fully equipped rehearsal rooms, which each contain a drum kit, PA, guitar and bass amps and an electric Piano. Also available to students and the public alike is a Pro Tools based recording studio, offering fully digital recording and mixing, complemented by a superb range of microphones, outboard and processing.
The recording studio can be hired by the public to record all types of projects. From 4 piece punk to 24 piece swing bands, our engineers will happily provide you with the complete recording service, including tracking, mixing and mastering to a CD.
