The major emphasis of the programme is on the identification of existing and potential abilities of individual students and the development in order to maximise their present and future quality of life.
All our students are given the opportunity, where appropriate, to work towards nationally recognised qualifications and awards. Students are guided to study at their own level, maximising opportunities to reach their individual potential. The qualifications allow achievement to be accredited for success such as vocational skills, key skills and life skills.
In addition, each student receives:
Personal TuitionEach student has a personal tutor and regular meetings are scheduled to discuss issues on a one-to-one basis. Student progress is continually checked and monitored. Reports are written by tutors and regular feedback given to parents/guardians.
A large team of Learning Support Assistants who provide day to day support both in and out of the classroom. In some cases this can be individual support, but usually an assistant is allocated to a small group.
all students are strongly encouraged to look at their strengths and build upon them in order to progress effectively and manage their own lifestyles.
For students with communication difficulties, speech therapy is available.
