Distance Learning, Foundation Studies and Skills for Life

"Welcome to The Academy of Access & Community Education at The College. The College Distance Learning Team works in partnership with many local employers delivering effective training in the workplace."
John McGill, Director, Access & Community Education

The College Distance Learning team works in partnership with many local employers delivering effective training in the workplace. A Distance Learning Support Tutor plays a key facilitator role by providing support and guidance to students following a flexible learning programme designed to meet their needs. The tutors’ main responsibility is to provide an induction for new students; offer consistent support through personal visits, by telephone or using electronic means; plan and track phased progress throughout the course of study and provide guidance on further learning opportunities as students near completion of their courses.

There is a range of courses ideal for staff at all levels including:

Business Practices, Team Leading, Health & Safety in the Workplace, Safe Handling of Medicines and more.

The courses last approximately 16 weeks and are accredited by ASET and NCFE, awarding bodies developed to provide distance learning to help Colleges meet the needs of the community. Both ASET & NCFE are accredited and regulated by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority.

A minimum of 6 students per workplace is required.

For more information on all Distance Learning courses please call the College helpline on 01202 205205.
