Choices for Adults, Access & Community Education

The Bournemouth and Poole College offers a wide range of educational and training opportunities for the local learning community, including courses for adult learners with learning difficulties/disabilities.

Choices for Adults is a programme aimed at developing students’ self-esteem and confidence and encouraging further independence. Throughout the course students will be introduced to all aspects of college life, and will be encouraged to develop personal, social and relevant work skills.

The staff work in partnership with other organisations including carers and social workers.

The Choices for Adults programme offers a breadth of study which enables the student to experience a wide range of vocational skills and leisure activities. These include:

Gardening, Horticulture, Art, Painting & Decorating, Drama and Dance, Paper-making, Floristry, Swimming, Printing, Basic computing and Sporting Activities.
